Helios He

Production manager
Helios' connection to TBL all started from a sermon from one of TBL's directors in Spring 2017 and was immediately impressed by what TBL is doing and its impact on the community. Since then, Helios has been extensively involved in TBL's work and most recently is focusing on the sound post-production for TBL's talking books.
Helios had extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and is running his own technology consulting business. He is the father to one lovely daughter.
Fiona Wu

Marketing coordinator
Fiona has been working for nonprofits for more than 10 years and has a heart for small organizations and church missions. With a background in fundraising, events and marketing, she started at TBL as a volunteer on the Marketing Committee and later on became our Marketing Coordinator.

Carolyn Kim
Former Executive director
Carolyn oversees the day-to-day operations and audio book production of the TBL office working with the Board and dedicated corps of volunteers. She joined TBL in January 2016 with a background in print disability having worked in dyslexia and amblyopia research at BC Children's Hospital. She completed her MA in children's literature at UBC and moved to Toronto where she has worked in publishing, in children's ministry as a pastor and as a producer of webinars.
Carolyn became TBL's Executive Director in June 2016 and is excited to be a part of TBL's ministry. She is married to James and has two daughters.
Kathy Nesbitt
Former administrative assistant, current volunteer editor

Kathy began to volunteer at TBL in 2015 as an audio book editor. During TBL's relocation during summer 2017, Kathy came on as staff to assist with TBL's move to Springvale Baptist Church. Kathy has extensive administrative and human resource work experience with the City of Markham. She continues to volunteer as an editor.

Chuck Weafer
Former sound technician
Chuck Weafer has been TBL's audio technician since May 2016, and is in charge of all sound post production for our talking books. Chuck worked at Sony Canada for 10 years, starting in sales and finishing as Head of Pro Audio Division for Canada. He is also a musician, and joined High Adventure Gospel Communication in 2004, a shortwave broadcast Christian radio show. Chuck built a recording studio in his own home, and it acts as the head studio for High Adventure.

Chuck is a grandfather to four children and is married to Brenda (wife of 39 years).

Betty Leung
Former administrator, volunteer Chinese program coordinator
Betty started as a volunteer at TBL in 2012 narrating Chinese books. She was one of the two pioneer narrators recording Chinese books. Betty then became the part-time Office Administrator of TBL from November 2013 to January 2016. She has since retired from this position, and she now volunteers as the Chinese Program Coordinator.

Betty came from Hong Kong with over 30 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. She is the mother of two grown boys. With the support of her husband, she enjoys serving at TBL.

Chris Kim
Former summer student
Chris joined TBL as the Audio Production Assistant after completing his first year of university in Computer Engineering at the University of Western in London, ON. He provided extensive IT support and website development to TBL and continues to help monitor TBL's new website.

Shadia Balram

Shadia studies Political Science at York University and loves to read, write and draw. She joined TBL as a Studio Production Assistant and helped to edit audio books, plan the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and she participated as a walker to fundraise and set up a new database for TBL.
