A Big Day, A New Beginning

We couldn’t ask for better weather the day of the Scotiabank race.
Seeing 27,000 people gathered, at the crack of dawn, to participate in the race, all set against the downtown Toronto lakeshore skyline was pretty awe-inspiring alone.
However, the real highlight for TBL this year, was having the honour of guiding Crystal in Scotiabank’s 5km walk.
Crystal is a new patron to TBL audio books. She is only 29 years old and suffers from severe vision loss.

Weeks leading up to the event, Crystal and I diligently prepared for the race by walking 5km once a week.
It paid off and Crystal and I were able to complete the walk on race day in 1 hour and 10 minutes - ten minutes faster than the allowed maximum time limit!!

Crystal and her new Daisy Reader
Crystal said to me, “I really love TBL books. I can read how God works in people’s everyday lives.
In one story, I saw myself in the main character who was led to forgive those who hurt her in her past. I believe God is encouraging me to forgive like the main character in this story.”

Crystal's Baptism
A blessed ending to a big day, Crystal was baptized on the same day after the Scotiabank 5km walk at Broadview Church in downtown, Toronto.
Through Crystal's loving church community, TBL support and Christian audio books, Crystal decided to give her life to Christ.
Praise God!
